Updating an Old Antique Chair

Hello Bloggers! This is my first post on the blogosphere. For years I've followed other blogger sites but have never had the gumption to finally hit the launch button!

I finally decided to just bite the bullet and do it! Growing up, my mother and I would find treasures at antique shops and flea markets and we couldn't wait to get home to start working on the transformation. These are some of the best memories I have growing up. Call it a mother/daughter bonding experience or just the reward of unveiling the beautiful transformation of what was once someone else's trash! My mother taught me a lot and still does to this day.

For my first post, I decided to start small with an antique chair my mother and I purchased years ago at an antique store for $15 and could never decide what to do with it.

I apologize for the blurry photo. Yep you guessed it, I used my iPhone. The fiance' recently gave me a fancy new camera that I'm still learning to use so I will definitely be posting with that in the near future.

For this particular chair, I've chosen a navy blue velvet fabric. I'm really loving how navy blue velvet fabric gives chairs a plush look in design magazines. Imagine what a little fabric and trim will do to transform an old piece.
Do you have an old chair that needs updating? For just a few dollars, you can give it new life.

Stay tuned. I'll be posting the results very soon!
